Claremore Toastmasters Bring Heart

man megaphone speechOn February 10, 2015, Claremore Toastmasters met with a theme of Valentine’s Day, acknowledging the ancient and modern traditions associated with this day. Our featured speaker of the evening shared “Inspire with Style,” a fantastic way of learning to communicate with different people. Claremore Toastmasters club meetings use three tools for improving communication and leadership skills. The first tool is prepared speeches, using guiding manuals to help improve communication skills. The second tool is impromptu speeches because in life there are several opportunities when you can improve your skills. When are good times for impromptu speeches? Job interviews, questions from the boss, getting that phone number from that special someone, or even placing your order at the drive through at your favorite burger joint require a quick and clear response. The third tool is that of evaluation. The members of Toastmasters International help each other by giving positive feedback and offering advice on how to improve existing skills.
