Claremore Tutors Wanted: You Know You Want To!

Rogers County Literacy Council is hunting for amazing tutors to change lives. Seriously.

Literacy is a much bigger issue than you would think in Oklahoma, and Rogers County. If you are interested in helping people, this may just be for you. There are a number of adults in our community who are unable to read bedtime stories to their kiddos, or to read the basic form at the doctor’s office. Wouldn’t that be difficult to function? Let’s do what we can to help, shall we?

Tutoring training will be held on February 27 and March 5. Both classes are required; it’s two Saturdays from 10a – 4p. Tutors are needed for teaching Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language (ESL). Additionally, math tutors are needed, especially for elementary and middle school students.

If you are interested in learning more, please send an email to Executive Director Edel Godwin at director@rocoread.org. Rogers County Literacy Council is based at the Will Rogers Library, and all training will take place there.
