You may have noticed Paradise Donuts now open on Highway 20, near the turnpike gate, at 811 E. Will Rogers Blvd. If you’re like me, you had some questions. Like, is this a second location or did they move? Where is Charlie, the friendly owner who first opened Paradise in Claremore in 2014? Are their donuts still as delicious?
Travis and I decided to stop in and investigate. Sadly, Charlie is retiring from the donut business. The original location, next to Burger King, will remain open until mid-November. The new location is owned by Valaina Cox and Bart Leber.
The store is clean and cute, and the staff was friendly. There is still a drive-thru, so you have no excuse to not stop by for breakfast in your pajamas. They now offer both baked and fried cinnamon rolls and some new donut flavors, as well as your traditional favorites. There’s even free wifi. And of course, chocolate milk.
We scooped up a fried cinnamon roll (huge, and delicious) and a maple donut topped with bacon. I don’t much care for maple, but it was fantastic.
Paradise is open seven days a week from 6a – 2p. After everything gets settled, they will be serving lunch, as well. If you’ve got questions for Paradise, please call them at 918-965-1919.
