RSU Names New Cheer Coach

Rogers State Director of Athletics Chris Ratcliff announced the hiring of Titus Massey as the new head coach of RSU Cheer Tuesday.

“I’m very excited to coach a program so close to my heart,” said Massey, a former RSU cheerleader himself. “The Hillcats have always been an amazing team full of amazing individuals, but I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to build and grow with them. This coming year shall be an adventure and I appreciate these athletes coming in for trusting me and sharing in my dream of what a team can and should be.”

A graduate of Rogers State in 2016, Massey came to College Hill as a member of RSU Cheer in 2011. He has spent the past two seasons assisting the Hillcats cheerleading squad with choreography for the National Cheerleading Association College Nationals performances. Massey replaces Matt Hinds, who resigned following the 2016-17 season, as head coach.

“I am excited for the future of Hillcat Cheer under the guidance of Titus,” said Ratcliff. “We feel that Titus’ passion and dedication to excellence fits the University, the Athletic Department and the expectations for RSU Cheer.”
