The Downtown Claremore Merchant Association hosted the second annual Souper Saturday on January 6. Each participating merchant prepared soup, and tasting kits were sold to participants. The weather was beautiful and the turnout was great!

The winner of this year’s roving trophy is Beckie Osborn, owner of Frosted Artisan Cake Studio. Her potato soup won the crowd favorite vote. Congratulations, Beckie! She takes over the trophy from last year’s winner, Justin Michael of The Haberdashery.

moreClaremore came in third last year with their pumpkin chili, and was determined to take the crown this year with their ace in the hole, the original recipe for Full Moon Cafe’s tortilla soup. Sadly, they ended up in fourth place. Being that Travis and Ashley like to award themselves titles, they have dubbed moreClaremore the winner of both the completely fictional Souper Saturday Congeniality Award and the Best Tortilla Soup that Involved Four Pounds of Cheese winner.

If you didn’t come out to Souper Saturday this year, definitely try it next year…it’s a lot of delicious fun!
