When it comes to family history, exploring genealogy is one of the most popular pastimes in the United States, evidenced by the wide range of popular television programs such as “Who Do You Think You Are”, “Genealogy Roadshow”, and “Finding Your Roots”. Whether you’re a beginning genealogist, curious about your family’s role in history, or well along the way to uprooting the entire family tree, the Will Rogers Library’s Genealogy Volunteers are experienced in ancestry research of all kinds. While the volunteers cannot do family research for individuals, they can help you get started creating simple beginning family trees, or show you the tips and tricks to using the Library’s online genealogy resources such as Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, World Vital Records, and Native American resources to help your research be as complete and accurate as possible.
The Will Rogers Library Genealogy Volunteers are available every Monday night from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the library’s genealogy area. Bring your questions to the library and let them help you bring your personal history to light!
