Foyil area residents no longer have to make a 20-mile round trip to buy fresh produce thanks to Dollar General’s investment in a remodel of the Foyil store. A visit to the store on Wednesday (after a Monday stocking) indicates the produce section has been a welcome addition – shelves were already bare after two days and the store was completely sold out of salad kits, cole slaw, strawberries, tomatoes and two varieties of apples. The remodel also expanded the dairy and freezer sections. Store manager, Dale Jones, said he has had lots of positive feedback from customers and everyone seems to be thankful for the expanded options. Rumor has it that most new Dollar General stores as well as those being remodeled will feature a produce section including the new one under construction north of Claremore and the one in Chelsea.
