Transport your child back to an era before tablets and video games with Wild West Kids Camp at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Children ages 5-12 will learn about life in Oklahoma before statehood with exciting hands-on activities. The camp is June 19-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes a chuckwagon lunch.
Activities include: Cowboy Magician Doug Anderson, Pawnee Bill’s Stagecoach Rides, crafts, 19th Century games and more.
“It’s a great and fun way for kids to communicate with Will Rogers,” said Bart Taylor, Museum creative curator and interpreter. “They will learn how to become a cowboy and see an example of the man Will became and his role as a world citizen.”
Children must be registered to attend. Each child will receive a cowboy hat, shirt, rope and crafts. Registration is $45 each for non-members of Will Rogers Memorial Museum and $30 for members. Deadline to register is June 11. Register online at www.willrogers.com/frontier-days-kids-camp.
The Will Rogers Memorial Museum is located at 1720 W. Will Rogers Blvd. in Claremore. Call 918-341-0719 for more information.
