SUMMARY:Claremore Christmas Parade
DESCRIPTION:People Source showed their appreciation for hometown heroes\, including police and fire personnel\, healthcare workers\, teachers\, and our troops during the 2020 Drive-Thru Christmas Parade. \n The popularity of the 2020 drive-thru Christmas parade was apparent based on the volume of vehicles that traveled through the festively lit campus of Rogers State University last December. This year\, the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to continue with the drive-thru format. Claremore’s annual Christmas parade will be held Saturday\, December 4\, at RSU. The theme for 2021 is “Christmas Around the World.” \nApplications are available now at Claremore.org or the Chamber office\, 419 W. Will Rogers Blvd.\, in historic downtown Claremore. \nTraditional floats or stationary displays will be set up in assigned spaces on campus\, and the spectators will drive through the campus to admire the festivities. You might even spot jolly old Saint Nick! This year’s theme allows for plenty of ideas\, whether it’s Australian Santa on a surfboard or a trendy Elf on the Shelf. The use of Christmas lights is a requirement for every entry. \nThe Chamber will be giving away cash prizes for the following categories: Best Use of Decorated Lights\, Best Use of Parade Theme\, and Christmas Spirit Award. \n“We had such a great time with last year’s parade\,” said Ashley May\, Director of Communications for the Chamber. “And with COVID-19 still very much in evidence\, we want to do our part to carry on this holiday tradition while still keeping our community healthy. We hope to have an even bigger turnout from both participants and spectators this year. We are so thankful for RSU’s partnership in this endeavor. We couldn’t do this without them!” \nThe parade will begin at 5:30 PM on Saturday\, December 4th. Gates will be open until 8:30 p.m. Cars will enter at the Camden St. entrance\, near the splash pad\, and will exit on Will Rogers Blvd. \nThis parade is made possible by the generosity of sponsorships offered by Claremore businesses. The 2021 Claremore Christmas Parade sponsors include Presenting Sponsor: Rescue Heat & Air\, and Star and Ribbon Sponsors: Neely Insurance\, Solid Rock Realtors\, Cherokee Nation Tribal Council – Keith Austin\, BancFirst\, and Price 66 Tire & Auto.
