Girls: Clothing Tips You Need to Know

I ran across this list in my Facebook feed last week. I’m going to share my favorites with you. Being a girl can be so difficult sometimes, right?

I love fall because I love boots tucked into jeans. But sometimes you don’t have any skinny jeans that are clean. Or you refuse to wear them for fear of looking like Justin Bieber. Here’s a trick on how to tuck your regular jeans into boots without looking like a bear hunter. I’ve never used this method with jeans, but I have used it with camouflage pants and combat boots back in my military days. Worked like a charm.No-more-fat-looking-ankles-31-Clothing-Tips-Every-Girl-Should-Know

Okay, this is a big one. Your jeans are too small. I mean, because the dryer shrunk them, of course. You need to get them damp. (The article suggested putting them on and sitting in the bathtub, but I feel like that’s a bit more than “damp”.) Anyway, you can spray them with a spray bottle. Then waltz around your house doing lunges and squats. After about half an hour of working out in wet jeans, take them off and hang them to dry. Repeat if necessary. Nothing says “comfort” like exercising in soggy denim, but it may be worth it.

If your jeans are too short lengthwise, get them damp and lay them on the floor. Stand on the waist portion, grab the leg, and pull toward you. Streeeetch. Hang dry and repeat as needed.

It’s happened to all of us: the dreaded deodorant marks on your shirt. Usually a black shirt. The mess can be removed with baby wipes!

If you’re in the mood to wear a button-up shirt with a sweater over it, the shirt will invariably be larger than the sweater, causing you to look as frumpy as Miss Hannigan in Annie. Solve that problem by wearing a tank or cami over the button-up, under the sweater. Problem solved.

If you have a pesky zipper that refuses to stay up, all you need is a key ring. Hook the key ring to the zipper, then loop it around your button. Presto magic, the zipper stays up.

I think this tip is really good. If you’re like me and have approximately one zillion tees, you need a way to access them in a drawer. I tend to wear the same ones over and over, because I can’t see the ones at the bottom. This solves that issue.

I haven’t tried it yet, but a friend of mine has and swore it worked. Since I had my son, I’ve noticed that a lot of my shoes, namely flats, are a bit too narrow. Here’s how to stretch out shoes the easy way! Get two sturdy Ziploc bags and fill halfway with water. Release as much air as possible, and place into the shoes. Then put the shoes in the freezer overnight. Repeat as needed. Also, if your shoes are a bit on the odorous side, sprinkle some baking soda in the shoes before you put the bags in.
