Rogers State University sophomore Chelsea Fiedler was elected to the Student Advisory Board (SAB) for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Fiedler will serve a one-year term during the 2014-2015 academic year.
Fiedler is the first RSU student elected to the SAB.
Fiedler hails from Vinita and is majoring in political science. She serves as the PR director for the Student Government Association, delegation chair for the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature and social issues chair for the RSU Campus Activities Team. Fiedler is also part of the RSU Honors Program.
The SAB was established by the Oklahoma legislature in 1988 to communicate the views and opinions of students to the State Regents. The board consists of seven students representing each tier within the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, including one representative from a private institution.
