Claremore CIEDA Recognizes Retiring Trustees

cieda6.17.15For several decades, two entrepreneurs in the community have served selflessly in economic development. The Claremore Industrial & Economic Development Authority recognized the retirement of trustees Jerry Feese and Rob Melton at the recent June CIEDA board meeting.

Jerry Feese joined the authority in 1988, as the owner of The Men’s Shop, a men’s apparel store located in the Ne-Mar Shopping Center in Claremore. He joined the board as a service to his community and has served as chairman of the organization twice in his almost three decade long tenure. His fellow trustees reference him as organized, selfless and most importantly – he could run a board meeting like non-other.

“Claremore is blessed to have the talent of businessmen like Feese and Melton influencing economic development,” said Jeri Koehler, executive director of CIEDA. “It has been a pleasure working under these gentlemen in our community, they will always hold a special place at CIEDA.”

Rob Melton served as a trustee for 13 years, as owner of Melton Sales, Claremore’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership. Rob initially joined the board to have influence in economic development in Claremore. He quickly learned the organization played a key role in building the industrial park, the Claremore Regional Airport and in influencing public policy adopted by City Council. His fellow trustees appreciate his quick wit, selfless service and wealth of knowledge for Claremore’s rich history.

“It has been a pleasure serving as a CIEDA trustee over the years,” said Rob Melton. “I am confident in the board and staff of the organization and look forward to watching it move to the next level in the coming years.”

The Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority is a public trust organization that oversees development at the Claremore Industrial Park and Claremore Regional Airport along with retail development.
