At First Sight Doula services has started a new Facebook group called Expecting in Claremore. This group is for expecting or new parents in Claremore and the surrounding communities including Owasso, Foyil, Chelsea, Pryor, and all of the other areas in Northeast Oklahoma that are rarely represented outside of Tulsa.
The purpose of this group is to provide emotional and educational support to families in order to have a confident transition into parenthood.
Our goal is to create a community that supports families in whatever their choices are and give information and resources for them to make informed decisions regarding their care and their families. We don’t have any agenda other than being a place for new families to go for information, encouragement, validation, advice etc.
We believe that Claremore is an amazing community and we don’t need to look elsewhere to find the kind of resources we need. We host monthly in person peer support meetings that cover a variety of topics including breastfeeding, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and newborn care tips. These dates and times will be posted on www.atfirstsightdoula.com for those who don’t frequent Facebook but may still want to attend.
