Rogers State Director of Athletics Ryan Erwin announced staffing changes for the department’s administration effective August 1 heading into the 2016-17 school year.

Dawn Tatro has been promoted to the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Student Development following the departure of Nick Stowers, who held the post for nearly three years. Eddie Jackson and Sara Williams have been promoted to the roles of Senior Associate AD for Compliance and Associate AD for External Relations, respectively.

Stowers resigned his post to accept a position working with the sport administration master’s program at his alma mater, East Central University. Stowers provided Hillcat student-athletes academic advisement, managing study hall, and arranging tutoring sessions, while overseeing the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

“While we hate to lose Nick and the many contributions he made to the department, we are excited for him in his new opportunity,” Erwin said. “Nick has devoted countless hours to the development of our student-athletes for the past three years and I know that he will continue to impact lives of students for years to come.”

Tatro has worked for RSU athletics since March 2008 serving in various capacities as Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Department, Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics, and most recently Director of Athletic Business Operations. She also recently completed her Master of Science in College Athletic Administration from Coker College this spring.

“I am proud to announce that Dawn will be moving into this role as she has made it a point to gain more experience and responsibilities since she began working at RSU. She has worked tirelessly in several capacities over the years, as well as completing her master’s degree this past year.  I’ve appreciated her hard work and attention to detail in the past and know she will continue to make RSU athletics a better place in her new position,” Erwin added.

Both Jackson and Williams were instrumental in RSU’s recommendation for membership into NCAA Division II earning the respective title changes.

“Eddie and Sara are an integral part of Hillcat athletics and their leadership, dedication, and guidance has been invaluable to the University throughout the transition to full, active membership in the NCAA,” Erwin stated. “I appreciate their passion for our student-athletes at Rogers State University and I’m grateful for their commitment and ongoing support of RSU athletics and me personally.”

Jackson is the longest tenured administrator for the Hillcats having come to RSU in 2006 and been responsible for all aspects of compliance, including eligibility and rules education. Williams, also the Senior Woman Administrator since 2010, will add oversight of the SAAC to her duties, while continuing to coordinate fundraising efforts for the department.
