The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for their Mounted Patrol Unit. They are looking for experienced riders with their own horses, who would be interested in volunteering.

To qualify and volunteer, you must:
Be 21 years of age or older
Have your own horse*
Have your own tack, trailer, and towing vehicle
Complete an application
Pass a background investigation
Pass a horse and rider evaluation process
(There are no county residency requirements.)

Duties include uniformed, “non-confrontational” horse patrols in Rogers County recreational areas, assisting with community events, and completing Search and Rescue missions. Mounted Patrol volunteers are Auxiliary Deputies, but riders will not have enforcement authority. Some equipment will be provided, like uniforms.

How to Apply
Call ahead of time to schedule you and your horse to complete our next and only evaluation. It will be held Saturday, November 10, at 10a, at the Claremore Expo Center. Contact is Major Coy Jenkins at 918-798-7723 or cjenkins@rcsheriff.org.

Current Coggins Test Documentation is REQUIRED before entering the Expo. No exceptions!
