The question we receive more than any other is, “Where is Chick-fil-A?”
Don’t worry, Claremore. It’s still coming.
In the December 5 city council meeting, Chick-fil-A was on the agenda, stated as such: Discussion and vote to approve/reject the Fourth Amendment to Purchase and Sale Agreement between Claremore Public Works Authority and Chick-fil-A, Inc. Jeri Koehler, CIEDA executive director, presented the item.
Basically, it boils down to easements and permits relating to sewer and stormwater. There are two property owners involved in the scenario. One of the owners has passed away, and his wife is 99 years old; the paperwork is currently going through the court system, in a curative title process.
Chick-fil-A, in its conservative nature, would like everything to be in order before closing on the property. The city has requested an extension of 60-90 days to cross the Ts and dot the Is. Being that it’s the holiday season, 90 days is more likely.
“It’s just the nature of the beast,” said City Manager Jim Thomas. Real estate and new business takes time. Be patient, friends; you’ll be enjoying your waffle fries soon enough.
