If you haven’t been to the Claremore Museum of History yet, you’re missing out on a wonderful experience. The museum is housed in the former Will Rogers Library at Gazebo Park (121 N. Weenonah). It’s staffed entirely by volunteers, and the exhibits are top notch.
Some of the topics include Radium Town, the Surrey with the Fringe on top from Oklahoma!, and early history. There are also exhibits dedicated to some of Claremore’s notable figures, like Stuart Roosa, Patti Page, and Lynn Riggs.
The newest exhibit will be open soon, and it covers the history of the Claremore Public Schools. The final touches are being placed and we’ll let you know when it’s ready for viewing.
The Claremore Museum of History is open every Saturday from 11a – 3p.
