Claremore Teachers Enjoy Appreciation Breakfast

The Claremore Public School Foundation (CPSF), its partners and event sponsors hosted the entire Claremore faculty, staff, and board of education at its annual appreciation breakfast Monday, August 14. Guests enjoyed entrees from Whataburger, breakfast casserole, fruit & pastries, nutritional teas from 6:19 Nutrition, and a coffee bar featuring SheBrews favorites.

Following a welcome by CPSF Executive Director Amy Evans and 2017-18 CPSF Board of Trustees President Traci Ballard, Jill Andrews of Claremore High School was recognized as one of twelve finalists for the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year. Andrews was the 2016-2017 Claremore Teacher of the Year. The winner will be announced and all finalists honored at an event in Oklahoma City on September 19.

Site Teachers of the Year for 2016-2017 were also recognized: Whitney Hindenburg and Jeanette Travis from Claremore High School, Mary Bopp and Traci Smith from Will Rogers Junior High, Elizabeth Keener from Claremont Elementary, Mary Marche from Roosa Elementary, and Angela Brown from Westside Elementary. Each received a gift from Kendra Scott and a gift card courtesy of RCB Bank.

TTCU Claremore’s Branch Manager, Bryan Bradley, presented the Claremore District Teacher of the Year, Jessica Storjohann Stolusky of Catalayah with gifts for her classroom and $500. Jessica also received a Kendra Scott gift and a gift card from RCB Bank.

The morning concluded on a high note for several lucky winners, with the awarding of door prizes of school supply packs from CPSF and multiple gift cards in amounts from $100 to $250 donated by RCB Bank. Chad Willard, CHS teacher, received a gift basket with goodies from Claremore area businesses.
