Claremore’s new West Bend Winterland has gained the support of multiple partners, such as Rogers County Coalition. “Partnering with Rogers County Coalition made the purchase of the ice rink a reality,” said Tanya Andrews, director of Claremore Expo & Tourism Development.

The Coalition’s mission is “creating a better future for families, youth, and children” and this project just fits. “Rogers County Coalition strives to develop, empower, and integrate community resources to promote quality of life for residents in Rogers County,” said Sharon Bittner, president of the Rogers County Coalition. “Partnering in west bend Winterland goes hand in hand with our vision.”

The Coalition was the driving force, while partnering with the City of Claremore, to develop and raise funds for the Will Rogers Park project. Dedicated in November in 2015, the park continues to be a hot spot for families especially in the summer with the splash pad. “We hope families will join us in celebrating the holidays by visiting this great holiday event in Claremore,” Andrews stated. “Our partners and committee have committed so much time and money to make sure this is a special time for our residents, as well as our visitors.”

West Bend Winterland will kick off with the official lighting of Claremore’s Christmas tree on December 4 at 6pm, with a sneak peek at the new ice rink. The event will open to the public on December 9, at 7pm following the Claremore Christmas Parade. A full list of activities and public skating sessions is available at www.westbendwinterland.com or call the Claremore Expo & Tourism Development at 918-342-5357.
