Claremore Wildcats Keeping Busy

We told you over the summer about the Claremore Wildcats Special Olympics softball equipment being stolen. Coach Win (Wendell Wilhoite) had his truck loaded with the team’s equipment, uniforms, and banners, when it was stolen.

So many organizations stepped up to help the team, which is active in the community. Supporters include Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, RSU Hillcats Softball/Baseball, Wrestling for a Cause, RCB Bank, and Home of Hope, as well as the 14u Locust Grove Pirates baseball team, who came to town to scrimmage the Wildcats. They presented each athlete with a championship ring.

What we never told you is that the truck and equipment were recovered, which is fantastic news! The team continues to work hard at fundraising; recent events include a car wash and a guitar raffle. If you’d like to donate or just keep up with the Wildcats, follow them on facebook!
