Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self, and Claremore’s Reveille Rotary provides a wide variety of services to the community, like their dictionary project that provides every third grader in Rogers County a new dictionary each year. The club also helped launch The Zone for teens and members volunteer at numerous events throughout the year.
This year, club members wanted to reach more women in the community, so Reveille Rotary partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and Claremore Main Street to participate in this year’s Leading Ladies Gala. “We are so honored to be part of such a great event honoring Leading Ladies of Claremore and Rogers County,” said Tanya Andrews, President of Claremore Reveille Rotary. “These ladies display passion, knowledge, experience and commitment to those organizations in which they lead. Their daily tasks challenge them to excel in their personal lives while providing our community with many needed services.”
Reveille Rotary sponsored the Nonprofit Leadership Award and this year, the award went to Layla Freeman, CEO and Founder of Light of Hope. “To hear Layla’s personal struggles and her journey to overcome and help others overcome is an amazing story of a very strong young lady,” said Jeanne Heidlage, Treasurer of Reveille Rotary. Light of Hope assists individuals and families faced with the struggle of addiction and other life difficulties. “The work Layla and her volunteers do is important to our community’s success, but more importantly the encouragement and strength they offer to those they help will make for stronger individuals,” said Andrews.
We congratulate all the recipients of this year’s Leading Lady Awards! There are so many deserving women in Claremore and Rogers County who make our community a better place to live, work and play; they all deserve many praises and many thanks!
