Free U.S. Citizenship classes are again being offered by the Rogers County Literacy Council. Classes are for anyone who would like to become a citizen of the United States. Classes will provide information on all the U.S. Civics information needed for the test, as well as practice for the personal interview. Classes will explain the application process and work on improving English skills.
Currently three classes are scheduled. Class are being held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM each week. A second class will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30 at the Claremore Campus of the Northeast Technology Center and will begin on February 7, 2019. A third class will be offered on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 PM to 4:15 PM at the Catoosa Public Library in Catoosa, and will begin February 6, 2019. All classes will meet weekly until April 26, 2019. Malinda Brown will be the instructor.
