Habitat for Humanity in Claremore has broken ground on a new home! This is their first build in six years, so it’s an exciting time to be part of this organization. Since 2000, Habitat has built 12 homes in the area for deserving individuals.
Each homeowner must complete 300 work hours, attend several classes on learning how to be a responsible homeowner, and complete financial counseling.
Claremore Habitat is working hard to rebuild the local chapter. Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of providing affordable and quality housing for the community. Not everyone needs to swing a hammer to help, but there’s definitely a place for that, too. Help is also needed with fundraising and family support. If you would like to volunteer in some capacity, please email volunteer@habitatclaremore.org.
This year’s Leadership Rogers County class has chosen to donate the proceeds from their April 26 golf tournament to fund the foundation for this home. If you would like to be a sponsor or play in the 17th annual LRC golf tournament, please contact Ashley May at ashley@moreclaremore.com.
