Alfred Thomas earned second place in the 200-meter dash finals at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.
Thomas backed up his preliminary standing the day before, running second overall in the final with a 21.09.
The senior had a strong showing in the 200-meter dash preliminaries on Friday, running the second fastest time of all qualifiers with a 20.82.
Thomas earned the best-ever finish at the National Championships for a member of the Rogers State Track & Field team. Baylor Harvey held the previous best finish for RSU, running 5th in the 5000-meter run in 2017.
Thomas’ second-place finish also earns him All-American status in the event.
Saturday’s event also wrapped up the 2019 season for Rogers State Track & Field.
