Summer is here, which means hot dogs, apple pie and fireworks. For over 30 years, Big Blast Fireworks has served the Claremore area.
Claremore now has two Big Blast tent locations: East Highway 20 facing Dorothy Street next to the BancFirst ATM, and one on the west side of town on Highway 20, across from Casey’s General Store.
The very first Big Blast of Claremore was at Swan’s Dairy. NABATAK bought that lot, so Big Blast moved down to the bottoms next to the turnpike gate…can you say HIGH water?! Next stop, higher ground! The current Big Blast location sits next to the BancFirst ATM. With a loyal Claremore customer base, they expanded to a second location on the west side.
Competition has become plentiful, but Big Blast has remained true to their commitment to provide a fair price and quality product. They began years ago with the tag line, “Best Price and No Dud Guarantee.” Words can be duplicated, but loyalty and reliability are what keeps a business going for decades.
We’ve got some tips on how to shop for your best display! The price of an item is relevant to the size and its performance. $75 will buy a papa-sized grand finale but the $10 could be considered the sassy baby sister, beautiful and loud. $800 dollars will buy you the “Godfather” of all family packs. Big Blast is known for its assortment and budget-friendly selection. If a family pack is what you are looking for, shop early because they go quickly!

Both Big Blast locations are open 10a – 10p, and until midnight on July 4. They are also open on Friday, July 5. No cash, no problem! They accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Never allow young children to handle fireworks- Older children should use them only under close adult supervision
- Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol
- Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear
- Never hold lighted fireworks in your hands
- Never light them indoors
- Only use them away from people, houses and flammable material
- Never point or throw fireworks at another person
- Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting
- Never ignite devices in a container
- Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks
- Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding
- Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that don’t go off or in case of fire
- Never use illegal fireworks
Fireworks are not fun for pets.
The combination of unfamiliar surroundings plus the sound of fireworks is doubly scary. If your pet is outdoors, he may well make a run for it, so keep him inside for the duration of any fireworks shows.
Before you begin the evening’s festivities, make sure to set up your pet in a safe, comfortable, calming space, like a bedroom or a crate.
Keep windows and doors closed to prevent any potential escape, and make sure your pet has a cozy bed, his favorite toys and enough food and water to last throughout the night.
Redirect your pet’s attention by throwing his favorite ball or another well-loved toy. Not only will you distract your pet, but you may help him associate the noise with something positive like play and attention.
A little white noise can help block out the worst of the fireworks. Leave the television or radio on, or just turn on a fan to help sound-sensitive pets get through the evening.
