There’s a New Barber in Town, Claremore

There’s a new barber in town, and he’s set up chair in The Haberdashery in historic downtown Claremore.

Josh Seago is a Skiatook native, but his father has lived in Claremore since he was five, so he’s spent plenty of time here. After graduating from Skiatook and playing basketball at Kansas Western University, he married his wife, Amy. They now have three sons, BK, Ryder, and Easton.

Josh spent several years trying to figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up. He was both a basketball coach and a minister, and he did plenty of construction along the way. He knew that he wanted a career instead of just a job. Three years ago, he finally took the family savings and went to barber school at Clary Sage.

Judging by the fact that he graduated as one of the top in his class, I think he made the right decision. He took a position first at a salon in Skiatook, then one in Tulsa. And now he’s found a home in Claremore.

“I love Claremore’s hometown feel. I feel very welcome here, and the people are so genuine,” said Josh.

While Josh’s nickname from barber school is the “Psycho Surgeon,” don’t be scared. It’s not as terrifying as it sounds. Josh is a quiet, unassuming guy, who really knows his way around a pair of scissors. The name comes from a style of “psycho” haircuts that Josh did in competition, winning him more than one first place finish.

Using The Holy Black line of styling products, Josh is a master at barbering, specializing in modern traditional, rockabilly, and all-around classic haircuts. He also does shaves, plus beard shape-ups and full head shaves.

Josh is available at The Haberdashery Monday – Friday from 9:30a – 6p. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, please call 918-933-7565.
