It’s the family-friendly event that has become an October tradition in Claremore for the last 8 years. And ZipperQ is back in 2020…with a big change! Due to ongoing concerns with large crowds in light of COVID-19, ZipperQ is shifting from an in-person BBQ competition to a large BBQ dinner donation event for 25 local area non-profits and first-responder agencies.
Here are all the details:
- BBQ teams are invited to register to cook on Saturday, October 3.
- Your team can prepare any meal you like (meat, mac and cheese, beans or more), from any location you prefer.
- At 3 pm, your team will deliver your meal to the local organization you select in advance.
- After you register, you will be contacted to select your organization (there will be a list to choose from or you can select one of your own).
- To make sure meals are provided for as many organizations as possible, only one team per organization. This will be on a first come-first served basis.
- Teams will be provided a ZipperQ placard, so we hope you’ll take a picture with your prepared meal and we can share how ZipperQ teams are giving back in 2020!
- Please note: if the organization your team is cooking for is able to make a donation, feel free to ask for $10 per plate as a donation to ZipperQ.
Sponsorships are available! Sponsoring ZipperQ is a great way for your company to get exposure in the community and support the International FOP Association, which funds research to find a cure for FOP while supporting individuals and their families through education, public awareness and advocacy.
Despite coronavirus concerns, it’s still imperative that ZipperQ raise money to help fund FOP research and find a cure for kids like Zip Gordon. That being said, sponsorships are still available for ZipperQ 2020. We hope you can support the effort, if you’re able to do so.
