The Master Gardeners Teaching Garden recently received a wonderful metal sculpture for their annual bed. This piece was commissioned to be done last year and was presented to the garden this week.
The sculpture was created by Dwight Stone and his sister, Linda Callery. Linda (a Rogers County Master Gardener) and Dwight are well-known artists in the area. Dwight made the piece and Linda put the colorful touches on.
Dwight and Linda are the children of Willard Stone, who is famous in his own right for being a sculptor. The piece captures a butterfly visiting the Oklahoma State Flower Gaillardia.
It’s definitely worth a stop at the Teaching Garden, located at 1564 Camden St.
