The Rogers State Athletic Department and Director of Athletics Chris Ratcliff have announced the promotion of Grant Farris to Assistant Athletics Director for Development.
“We are excited to have Grant remain in the Hillcat Family,” said Ratcliff. “Grant has been a big part of the athletic department over the last two seasons and has made a lasting impact that will continue to support our student-athletes. I look forward to his development in his new role and the support he will bring our athletics department, our coaches, and our student-athletes.”
Farris, who has spent the last two years as the Graduate Assistant for Ticket Operations at Rogers State, assumes his new role within the athletic department on July 1.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue working at RSU,” said Farris. “Claremore and Rogers State have become my new home over the last four years. As a former student-athlete, the opportunity to work for my alma mater and to help student-athletes, who are following in the footsteps of myself and other Hillcats before them, is an opportunity that I am thankful for.”
Over the last two years, the Lemoore, California native has run the ticketing operations for all Hillcat Athletics events, including marketing of events, as well as working multiple roles within game day operations.
Farris implemented new ticketing policies and special game day events during the last two years that have increased fan attendance, as well as generating a new revenue stream for the athletic department.
Despite limitations during the COVID-19 Pandemic, his ticket marketing led to 11 consecutive sellouts during the basketball season. During baseball and softball, fan attendance reached sellout capacities a dozen times.
Prior to his stint as the graduate assistant, Farris served two separate internships within the department during his undergraduate career, which also included a two-year career as a standout on the baseball diamond for the Hillcats.
In 2019, Farris led the Hillcats to the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship and a trip to the NCAA National Tournament, being named to the All-Heartland First Team and Heartland Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Farris graduated from Rogers State in May of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. He recently completed his Master’s Degree, graduating in May of 2021 with a Master of Business Administration.
