RSU Announces Athletic Department Advancements

Rogers State University Director of Athletics Chris Ratcliff has announced the promotion of two members of the Hillcat Athletics Administration team, Sara Braun and Derek Larkin.

“Both Sara and Derek have played a big part in their roles within the administrative team,” said Ratcliff. “These changes were important and reflect the great work that they do for the RSU Athletics Department and our Student-Athletes.

Braun, who has been with the Hillcats for more than a decade having joined RSU in 2010, has been elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations and will also maintain her role as the Senior Woman Administrator.

Braun supervises the department’s marketing, promotions, and event management staff. Braun oversees the athletic department’s community engagement efforts and aids in the social media efforts for the Hillcats. She also serves at Athletics Title IX Coordinator and oversees SAAC.

Larkin, who joined the administrative team in December as the Director of Athletic Facilities and Events, has been promoted to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Facilities and Events. Larkin will also continue his role as the head coach of the men’s soccer program, a position he has held since the program was created in 2007.

Along with his duties as the head coach for men’s soccer, Larkin oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance and scheduling for the weight room, practice gym and the athletic fields at Rogers State. Since assuming his role, Larkin has already secured hosting duties for the OSSAA State Championships for Girls and Boys Soccer, which were played this Spring at Soldier Field. He has also been instrumental in improvements to the weight room as well as other facility upgrades in relation to RSU Athletics.
