Welcome to (almost) 2022! We know it has been a rough couple of years for everyone so let’s make this year amazing! Get out and do some of the things Claremore has to offer this month! From Souper Saturday to Demolition Derby, there will be plenty of fun and exciting things to choose from. We cannot wait to see how great this year is and share all the excitement of Claremore with you throughout the year!
Start the new year off right by visiting The Lilac District for the annual Souper Saturday, sponsored by ETHOS Yoga. Not only is this event fun for the family, but it also gives you the opportunity to visit some of the wonderful downtown merchants. The event is Saturday, January 8th from 11am – 2pm and tasting kits/mugs can be purchased for $15 at Back in the Day Antiques and Collectibles and The District on Main.
All Star Team Roping is a new and exciting format that is designed by team ropers to put the contestants first. This two-day event combines the finest points of other associations to create an all-star lineup. All Star Team Roping features a finals qualifier and a year end finals that will include preliminary and shootout divisions. Don’t miss this exciting event at the Claremore Expo Center on January 8th and 9th. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit allstarteamroping.com.
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend the 58th Annual Gridiron at the Will Rogers Memorial Theater, hosted by the Claremore Chamber of Commerce. The popular comedy show will start at 7:00 pm. Be sure to visit claremore.org to get your tickets for just $25 before they sell out!
Make your way to the Mad Dog Demolition Derby at the Claremore Expo Center on January 22nd for an evening of family fun. Come see and hear one of the loudest events in Claremore, full of crushed metal and smashed cars. Drivers will compete in figure eight, mower derby, and Hornet car circle racing. This event is fun for the whole family, with a mini car derby that kids will love and a full-size derby fit for adults. Claremore’s Mad Dog event offers fast-paced action for everyone to enjoy, including the Saturday night Power Wheel Derby. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the fun starts at 7 p.m. Advanced tickets can be purchased online at motorheadevents.com. Adults are $18 and children under 11 years of age are $14 each (ALL tickets will increase $4 the day of show). Pit passes available day of show for $25.
