Compassion Women’s Center Hosts ‘Follow the Butterfly Trail’

Butterflies will fill the air on Sunday, June 5th during the 2nd annual Follow the butterfly trail™. Compassion Women’s Center, https://www.cwcrogerscounty.org holds the event each year to allow families to honor and remember their babies lost during pregnancy and through the first year of life. Follow the butterfly trail™ is open from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Teaching Garden located at 1564 Camden St. Claremore, OK 74017 and is hosted by Rogers County Master Gardeners https://www.mgaroco.com.

Families have the opportunity to privately release butterflies in remembrance of their child, stop at the prayer alcove and talk with Master Gardeners about the Oklahoma Proven plants. Outside of the Teaching Garden, the butterfly trail includes stops at the butterfly mural for photos, Patsy’s Sno Cones, face painting by Studio B Artworks and the opportunity to learn about butterflies with butterly expert, Kay Alexander. Attendees will take home a package of butterfly friendly plant seeds.

The remembrance ceremony begins at 2:45 p.m. and will feature the reading of beloved babies names. Austin, Baby Sanders, Clarabelle, and Whiten were some of the hundred names read last year. The ceremony concludes with a large release of butterflies filling the Claremore sky.

The entire event is free to the public. Butterflies, sno cones, and face painting are available as long as supplies last. Text 918-216-9292 or call 918-923-2085 to reserve your family’s butterfly.
