Eight Hillcats Named To D2CCA All-Region Teams

Rogers State men’s soccer led the central region with eight Hillcats named to Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-Central Region teams, the organization announced on Tuesday.

RSU led all teams with five first team selections, including Declan Viljoen, George Robinson, Luke Morgan, Sebastian Hernandez and Josh Milla. Viljoen, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, was a First Team All-GAC/MIAA honoree earlier this season and ranks fifth nationally in save percentage (.845), fifth in minutes played (1,737) and seventh in total saves (93). He also led the GAC/MIAA in goals against average (0.88). A product of Maidstone, England, Robinson was a First Team All-GAC/MIAA selection and finished the season with five goals, three of which were game winning, with six assists for 16 points. Those numbers ranked him third in the GAC/MIAA in assists, third in game winners, fifth in points and seventh in goals. Luke Morgan, a native of Nottinghamshire, England, was a First Team All-GAC/MIAA Midfielder with three goals, one game winner and three assists for nine points. A product of Broken Arrow, Okla., Hernandez was a First Team All-GAC/MIAA performer and anchored the Hillcat backline that put together eight shutouts during the season. Josh Milla, a McKinney, Texas native, was a Second Team All-GAC/MIAA selection and finished the year with four goals and five assists for 13 points.

Three Hillcats were named to the second team, including Marcos Vasallo, Trindon Turner and Grant King. A product of Madrid, Spain, Vasallo was a Second Team All-GAC/MIAA forward who ranked fifth in the GAC/MIAA with six goals, including two game winners, for 12 points. Turner, an Edmond, Okla. native, was a Second Team All-GAC/MIAA selection and anchored the Hillcat defense that turned in eight clean sheets during the season. King, a product of Tulsa, Okla., was an Honorable Mention All-GAC/MIAA performer and scored four goals with three assists for 11 points on the year.

The five Hillcats who were named First Team All-Region will advance to the D2CCA All-American ballot, which will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
