Remembering Rollin Johnson

Rollin Jerald Johnson of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at the age of 76. Rollin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ed and Mary Lou Johnson on July 7, 1946, and was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation.
Rollin spent his childhood in Venezuela and Tulsa, and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the military, he began his career in electrical engineering – a profession that allowed him to travel throughout the United States and the world. He married Joyce Griffin in 1974, and after living in Colorado, California, and Kuwait, settled in Claremore. After more than 20 years at Nordam, he retired in 2009.
Rollin was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, music, and playing guitar. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be remembered for his gregarious nature, terrific storytelling, and sense of humor. Rollin is survived by his wife Joyce, his daughter Erin, his son Vince, and grandchildren Corbin, Jack, and Britny.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 1:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home Chapel in Claremore, with a reception to follow.
