Remembering Carylon Sue (Brown) Van Riper

Carylon Sue (Brown) Van Riper had an adventurous spirit!

She graduated from beauty school in 1962, and then from Hartman (Arkansas) High School in 1964. She married Stephen Byron Van Riper on May 24, 1964, and they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. From Klamath Falls, with new baby Stephanie in tow, they moved to Cold Bay, Alaska. After a few years there, they moved to Anchorage, Alaska and had their second child Darrin. Sue was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom for many years. While in Anchorage, she worked at Clark Jr. High School. Eventually they moved back to Hartman, where she worked as a supervisor for Sara Lee Hosiery. Upon retirement, they moved permanently to Claremore, Oklahoma. She loved to sew and create beautiful crafts, and enjoyed spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren. She passed into eternity on December 16th, 2022.

Sue was a brilliant, caring lady who was admired and loved by all who knew her. She was a loving and constant companion to her husband Steve for 58 years, the best mom anyone could ask for, and the most incredible grandmother ever. She will be greatly missed.
