Remembering Joseph Alexander Irvine

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Alexander Irvine, 77, of Claremore, OK.
Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn of Claremore. Two sons, Joshua of Claremore, and Alex (Erica) and his beloved grandchildren Zachary and Mia of Tulsa. Two brothers, Gregg Irvine of Green Valley, AZ.; Bryan Irvine of Pensacola, FL. and a nephew, John Irvine of Las Vegas, NV. He is proceeded in death by his parents Gregg and Vera Irvine and two brothers, James Irvine and Bruce Irvine.
Joe was born in 1945 in Baldwin Park, CA. After spending his childhood in the Los Angeles area, he joined the United States Army where he served as an Armor Crewman in the 24th Infantry Division. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war. Following his stint in the Army, he moved to Salt Lake City Utah and then to Tulsa OK., to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics. It was in Tulsa that he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Walters. Together they raised their two sons, Alex and Joshua in the Collinsville and Claremore communities.
Joe had tremendous work ethic enjoying a lengthy career as a Printer Pressman spending 28 years at PennWell Printing. He proudly served as the Shop Steward in the Graphic Communications International Union. He worked hard until his health prevented him from doing so.
In his younger years, Joe was an avid deep-sea fisherman. He later enjoyed traveling, especially with Carolyn to Paris, France multiple times. Joe was a life-long San Francisco Giants fan, and his favorite player was Willie Mays. He also loved the Rams (whether they were in St. Louis or LA) and his Oklahoma State Cowboys. Joe will be deeply missed by his beloved little dog, Carl, they went everywhere together.
