Rogers State baseball’s Jesse Holguin has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Central Region Defensive Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

A native of Colton, Calif., Holguin earned a spot on the team at the shortstop position where he finished the season with a .956 fielding percentage, logging 66 putouts and 100 assists in 172 chances with only six errors. He also was part of 28 double plays. The senior also earned MIAA Gold Glove honors and was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA for his performance.

Holguin was one of three MIAA players to earn this honor, joining Jaden Parsons and Noah Olson of Central Oklahoma on the nine-member team. Players selected to the ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams were eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors.
