High Noon Shoot Out

April 7, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Tri-State Gunfighters will begin their fifth season of “High Noon Shoot Outs” on Saturday, April 7, at the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum in downtown Claremore. “Almost on a weekly basis we have visitors from the east coast, China and Europe ask us, “Where’s the cowboys?,” said Davis Museum Executive Director, Wayne McCombs. “I answer back that they will be here from April through October. You see some really big smiles on their faces when the cowboys perform. Visitors line up for photos with the Tri-State members.”

KOTV news anchor and reporter Meagan Farley will be the guest marshal for the shoot out. “I’m going to need her help,” said Marshal Rick Neighbors of the Tri-State Gunfighters. “I’ve heard tell that some mean galoots could be in this area on April 7 and I’ll need her and her six-shooter to control those varmints.”

The Tri-State Gunfighters are a volunteer group of individuals from Broken Arrow, Claremore, Dewey, Owasso and Tulsa that wear replica 1870s clothing and use replica 1870s arms. “The weapons are just like the ones that are used in the movies,” stated Marshal Neighbors. “We use blanks, but we treat the weapons just like they were firing actual ammunition. Safety is our main concern. All our members go through an approved safety training program.”

Farley joined KOTV in 2014. She came to Tulsa from Albany, NY, where she served as Anchor/Reporter with WTEN/WXXA television. Farley has also worked in the television industry in Roanoke, VA. She is a graduate of St. Michael’s College in Burlington, VT with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications. She currently anchors the morning news and covers stories for the evening newscasts.

The High Noon Shoot Out will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, April 7. The Tri-State Cowboys will be performing the first Saturday of the month at the Davis Museum through October. The performance is free and open to the public.

The J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum is located in downtown Claremore at 5th Street and Highway 66. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. For more information, call the museum at 918-341-5707.
