Lacrosse Exhibition Games
September 25, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Have you ever wanted to chase somebody with a stick and smack them with it? Well, don’t do that, but maybe let your kids!?!
On September 25th at 2:00pm, Rogers County Lacrosse will host four exhibition games on the Claremore campus of Rogers State University. The games will take place on Soldier Field, home of RSU Soccer. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome to come check out this ‘new’ sport. Teams from three other communities will come to play in the scramble matches. There will be concessions for sale and sign-up sheets for those interested in joining us for the 2017 season.
Over the past three years, the youth of Claremore have found this new and exciting way to compete, Lacrosse. This fast-paced high-intensity game has really taken off in Northeast Oklahoma. Each season the numbers have grown and people are finding out that off-season football can now simply be, lacrosse season. (Sorry, baseball folks.)
It complements football so well. Helmets, check… Shoulder pads, check… Contact, check… Running, check…
These exhibition matches will let the people of Rogers County see what they have been missing. Even if you don’t know all (or any) of the rules, it doesn’t take long to become a fan.
Please come out and see these junior high kids give their all and showcase this awesome sport.
Kids from 1st grade and up are welcome to join us for clinics that will take place between now and the start of the 2017 season. Dates are TBD.
See you on the hill on September 25th! LAX to the MAX! (Lacrosse to the Maximum)
