Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes returns to Claremore on Saturday, April 21. This event is hosted by Safenet Services and serves to raise awareness of domestic violence. Oklahoma ranks 6th nationally for domestic violence and in 2017, Safenet was able to help 200 women and children for a total of 10,300 safe nights. Additionally, 447 clients – shelter and outreach – were able to receive counseling services.
This year’s event is a little different, as there is not a set donation fee. Any donation will be welcome for registration. Registration will include a t-shirt (first 150 to preregister), hot dog (courtesy of Walke Bros.), chips, and drink. In addition to the one mile walk, there will be a Red Shoe Runway competition and a pet parade!
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will be held at Gazebo Park at the corner of Weenonah and Will Rogers, beginning at 10a. You can preregister here to get your t-shirt!
*Red shoes are not required but are encouraged!
