Claremore Teachers Earn $27K in Grants

Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) Trustees delivered a total of $27,558.33 in grants on December 4, 2016, to teachers across the district.

“No one supports the foundation of education in Claremore like our CPS Foundation,” states Mary Marche, Speech Pathologist. “Thank you for your consistent dedication and support.”

Fourteen teachers were awarded grants of different amounts for classroom materials, equipment, and projects used to enrich the learning environment for our Claremore students. The Trustees visited teachers at Catalayah Elementary, Claremont Elementary, Roosa Elementary, Westside Elementary, Robson Performing Arts Center and Claremore High School. Grants are awarded semi-annually in December and May, and teachers must apply for funding of projects that they feel will “enrich the quality of education in the Claremore Public Schools” through the learning experience of their students.

“The Board of Trustees works very hard raising monies and reviewing the grants,” said CPSF Executive Director Amy Evans. “Grant Patrol Day is when the trustees see the fruits of their labor pay off.”

Since CPSF began in 1988, the foundation has helped provide more than $1,500,000 in grants to teachers and school sites. As a private, non-profit organization, CPSF depends on the contributions of individuals and corporate donors. This year, CPSF launched its Partner Program which allows businesses or individuals to show their support of Claremore Public Schools at a significant level. The 2015-16 Partners are Taylor, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey & Russell, Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold, Hillcrest Hospital – Claremore, Service King, CF Industries, Pelco Structural LLC and RCB Bank.
