Until the state sees a good hard freeze, or the daytime high temperatures are in the 40s and 50s, mosquitoes won’t stop biting, and West Nile is still a concern.
To keep yourself safe:
-Apply insect repellent to clothing and exposed skin.
-Mosquitoes can bite through thin fabrics.
-DO NOT apply insect repellent to pets or infants!
-Use mosquito netting over infant carriers when outside.
-At least once or twice weekly, empty water from flower pots, pet food and water dishes, bird baths, swimming pool covers, old tires and anything that may hold standing water.
-Check for clogged rain gutters and clean them out.
