FREE English Classes Offered in Claremore

literacyThe Rogers County Literacy Council is excited to offer free English classes again this school year. The classes are for adults who are learning English as a second language (ESL). Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:15 pm to 8:15 pm. The first session begins September 7 through October 10th, and the second class begins January 23 through February 27.

Like the classes offered last spring, the first class is titled Education Conversation and second, Health Conversation. The next classes will continue to build on vocabulary used in the educational and health settings; however, they will have more emphasis on grammar, conversation and pronunciation.

This project is supported by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with federal funds under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Education Conversation Class is funded by the Oklahoma Literacy Coalition, through a grant funded by Tinker Feral Credit Union.

Those interested in the class can contact Edel Godwin, email director@rocoread.org,  or call 918-277-4331
