Claremore Elementary School Race Still A Go

It is time again for the Claremont Crayon Run! (April 7th at Claremore Lake)

In these uncertain times of public education funding, this originally all-teacher run event has helped raise money for supplies and much-needed student curriculum pieces over the past four years. Fearing the event might be suspended, local hero and Claremont mother, Jenni Bruner, has taken the reins and is charging ahead with the event.

Bruner said, “I recently found myself with the opportunity to help my children’s school in a way that I think is very important not only to the school, but to our community right now.”

The race will be bigger and better than ever with new logos, confetti color for celebrations, a live DJ and more. There will be a FUN RUN ($10), 5K ($35) and 10K ($45). Each race will begin at the same location at Claremore Lake with the Fun Run kicking off at 8AM and both 5K and 10K races beginning at 8:30AM.

Bruner is currently seeking volunteers for the day of the race, April 7th. Volunteers will help with setup, organizing racers, throwing color and handing out water. Water for racers has been provided by Grant Gingerich State Farm, donuts for the volunteers provided by Daylight Donuts and water and coffee for volunteers provided by Cedar Point Church.

All funds raised go directly to a special Claremont teacher supply account.
