Just north of QuikTrip in Claremore sits a small rock office building. One of the newest tenants is Allstate Agent Scott Shoemake. (Note: Shoemake, not Shoemaker.) Scott purchased the Claremore Allstate branch back in 2017. After serving in multiple fields as a salesman, Scott found the insurance business in 2009 working with Oklahoma Farm Bureau in the financial services and retirement group.
Scott said, “My background is in sales, everything from Frito-Lay to water skis. I spent 24 years in the car industry with the second-largest auto group in the US, but I knew that I could really help people when it came to insurance.”
After becoming a fully certified agent, the next logical step was opening an office of his own. As fate would have it, the Claremore location was seeking a buyer.
Scott said, “The timing just worked out for us both. He was looking to move on and I was ready to hit the ground running. We took over the branch and continue to support those clients, while looking for others we can help solve their insurance problems.”
Scott says he believes that protecting people is the ultimate goal and his favorite part of the job. It is a formula of finding the right fit for each individual case based on coverage, not just price.
Scott said, “Some people shop for the lowest price, but that can mean their coverage will fall short if an emergency strikes. My job is getting it just right for the customer.”
Scott’s team includes Rogers County natives Lee Ann Sandecki and Grace Goedecke. They help run day-to-day operations and can provide you with quotes or answer questions as needed.
Allstate has been a trusted brand since they began in the 1930’s! In recent years, their ‘Mayhem’ marketing campaigns have drawn the attention of millions. You might also recognize their good hands logo from all those football game extra point nets. Scott says he knew the name was important, but the service was unmatched.
When Scott isn’t in the office, he enjoys long walks on the beach (not really), but he did mention he is an avid cyclist and averages 150-200 miles per week. (That is further than I have ridden a bike total in life.) Scott has been a Dallas Cowboys fan since birth and is a season ticket holder down in Norman. Scott and his family currently live in Bixby, but have plans of moving to Claremore after his daughter graduates high school.
Scott said, “We love it here in Claremore, but I don’t want to take my daughter away from school and church at this time. My wife is the Education Coordinator at our church and loves her job as well.”
So you might be thinking, ‘I already have insurance.’ Well, I don’t want to get into all the nooks and crannies of the insurance biz, so let me keep it simple. If you are shopping for new insurance or don’t have insurance, or have never heard of insurance, give Scott a call and let him help you find that perfect coverage. They can help you over the phone or in person, in town or out of town.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet Scott, his door is always open (within reason, of course). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8a – 5p or by appointment as needed; just call 918-341-9300. Visit them today at 501 S. Lynn Riggs Blvd. Suite D, Claremore, OK 74017.
