Terran Schornick is the jack-of-all-trades when it comes to her involvement at Claremore High School. She is a three-sport athlete playing softball and basketball, while also running track. When it comes to athletics, softball has always been Schornick’s favorite sport and huge investment of her time. She has been playing softball for nearly ten years now. Away from playing softball at Claremore, Schornick plays for the Adrenaline fastpitch organization.
Schornick is a hard worker when it comes to the classroom. She applies herself and shows that she is willing to put in the work on and off the field. She holds a 4.0 GPA at Claremore and takes her studies just as seriously as athletics.
“My grades are very important to me,” said Schornick. “I’ve always held myself to high standards when it comes to my grades. My parents have instilled a strong work ethic in me to always strive to be the best. I’m never satisfied with “good enough,” whether that’s on the field or in the classroom.”
Schornick believes that her and her team are playing a little below par this season, but thinks they can turn things around if they find a way to rally back as one unit.
“We just need to find a way to bond and overcome adversity together,” said Schornick. “Although this hasn’t been the season we were expecting, we’ve improved so much since last year. We just need to come together as a whole and keep pushing. As for myself, the one expectation I have is to go 100% at all times. I expect nothing less than my best this season.”
After this season, Schornick will have two more years with the Zebras. Then she will move on to her future plans outside of school. She is still undecided what she wants to do after high school is over, but Claremore will always have a special place in her heart.
“One thing I like about going to Claremore is the bond I have with all my teachers and coaches,” said Schornick. “They all do a great job of getting to know their students and players on a personal level. My teammates are my best friends. We don’t have to be afraid of sounding stupid around each other because all of us are pretty crazy. We are constantly laughing and having a good time in the dugout.”
