Thursday Free Mock 5k Honors Nena Wells, Past RoCo Fit Mentor
Tuesday, RoCo Fit began a week of honoring a longtime past mentor, Nena Wells, who died in 2018. The photo is of her family (front row) and a bunch of her RoCo Fit family wearing shirts of her favorite color with her initials and favorite saying, “Some miles make you INVINCIBLE, some miles make you DEFEATED, every mile makes you STRONGER.”
We continue with a free Mock 5k on Thursday, May 30th, 6:00 p.m., Claremore Lake. This race is free, roughly timed, open to everyone, and lots of fun! The start/finish is at the last shelter across the lake from the boat and fishing/dock.
Nena Wells put in many miles as a member and/or volunteered as a mentor and Advisory League member for RoCo Fit for over 6 years. She was an inspiration and encourager to many participants and mentors over the years. Her constant smile and laughter along with her creative costumes are greatly missed by all who ran or walked with her. RoCo Fit is truly a community family for those who join and Nena was one of our family.
Please join us and walk or run this free Mock 5k Thursday in honor of Nena Wells or someone who has inspired you. No registration, just show up at 6:00 p.m. and join the fun!
