January in Claremore

As we enter into 2024 we hope for a bigger and better year here in Claremore. January starts off rather slow but we have some exciting things happing this year in Claremore and around Rogers County. We hope that you can make time to visit this year and enjoy one of our many events.

To start the month off, we look forward to the Navajo Weaving Class Weekend Retreat at
Shepherd’s Cross. The fun learning retreat will take place on January 4th, 5th, and 6th from 8:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This basic weaving class will include fiber arts history and practical
technology and the option to take the class in person or virtually! Each participant will finish a
Navajo project that is theirs to keep. The retreat fee is $299 and includes all materials. Registration is required and space is limited. Visit https://shepherdscross.com/online-registration.html to get registered for this hands-on learning experience!

Tuesday, January 9th make plans to head over to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum at 12:00
p.m. as OETA premieres the screening of “Back in Time: Will Rogers; Oklahoma’s Favorite
Son”. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with Back in Time
producer Robert Burch and experts from the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Admission is free
but registration is required and seating is limited. Get registered today at

Next up, we have Souper Saturday on Saturday January 20th. During the hours of 11:00 a.m. to

soup or stew! Tasting kits are required to partake in the tasting and can be purchased at the

Make your way to the Mad Dog Demolition Derby at the Claremore Expo Center on January 20th for an evening of fun and car smashing. Come see and hear one of the loudest events in
Claremore, full of crushed metal and smashed cars. This event is fun for the whole family and it
is always a packed house so purchase your tickets early! The doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the
fun starts at 6:00 p.m. Advanced tickets can be purchased online at motorheadevents.com.
