Car enthusiasts from across the country will gather in Claremore this week for the 50th Mid America Ford Shelby Nationals. From June 19 to 23, Ford, Mustang and Shelby owners will gather for the yearly event to show off their performance cars and trucks at the Claremore Expo Center, paying homage to the illustrious heritage of these performance vehicles.
“Often referred to as the Main Street of America, Claremore’s connection to Route 66 played a significant role in American car culture, bringing a steady stream of travelers and car enthusiasts through the town,” said Claremore City Manager John Feary. “Route 66’s influence helped establish a vibrant car scene in Claremore, and we are thrilled to reconnect with our roots and host this milestone event for one of the nation’s most iconic car shows.”
The event kicks off Thursday, June 20, with a free public Street Party featuring food trucks, live music, a kids zone, and a special participant reunion cruise at the Claremore Expo Center from 6 – 10 p.m. Club members will enjoy private racing events throughout the week at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and Tulsa Raceway Park, and festivities will wrap on Sunday, June 23, with the Cars and Coffee Show at the Claremore Expo from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., bringing together all car enthusiasts to showcase any make or model of vehicle.
“Congratulations to Jim Wicks and the entire Mid America team on 50 years of the Mid America Ford Shelby Nationals event,” said Gary Patterson, President of Shelby America, Inc. Shelby American appreciates all the people who have dedicated their time to ensuring everyone has a great time. Shelby has debuted a couple of cars at the event and enjoys returning year after year. Come see the 2024 Super Snake Gt500KR and Shelby trucks while you are in Claremore.”
