After a lengthy and strenuous interview and application process, Nichole Potter of Claremore has been crowned Mrs. Claremore for the second year in a row! Nichole will represent Claremore in the Mrs. Oklahoma pageant on Saturday, March 28, at the Guthrie Scottish Rite Museum. Tickets are available at the door for $38.
The title of Mrs. Claremore is based on more than just a pretty face. While a beautiful woman, Nichole was also judged on her interview skills, achievements, overall personality, community involvement and platform, which is ‘Blessings through Bereaving’ which she is very passionate about. Nichole hopes to be the voice for families that have experienced the unexplainable and unimaginable loss of a child. Her goal is to bring peace, comfort and strength during the many stages of bereaving.
In the Mrs. Oklahoma pageant, a more traditional pageant format is used. Delegates will compete in the categories of interview, swimsuit/fitness and evening gown. There are 20 women participating this year. The Mrs. Oklahoma pageant is the official state preliminary competition for Mrs. America, celebrating the achievements, poise and personality of Oklahoma’s accomplished married women.
Nichole is a Claremore native. She graduated from Northeastern State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She is married to Brian Potter of Sequoyah, who is both an Owasso firefighter and a professional bass fisherman. Nichole and Brian have a daughter, Mekentzi, 5, and a son, Eli, 2. The Potters are members of First Baptist Church in Claremore.
Nichole said, “I am so overwhelmed and humbled by all the love and support from family, friends, sponsors and Claremore. I would be honored to represent my home of Claremore as Mrs. Oklahoma!”
